Pump tracks and BMX tracks across London, from neighbourhood parks to club race tracks with a start gate, area by area from the north-west round to the south-west.
About this guide
A pump track is a loop of rollers and berms (banked turns) that you ride by pumping your body up and down rather than pedalling. Get the timing right and you can lap without a single pedal stroke. Most of the tracks in this guide are in public parks, free to ride, and open to scooters and skateboards as well as bikes.
We have included BMX tracks too, because riders use both and the riding overlaps. London has an unusually strong club scene: many of its BMX tracks were built with Access Sport as part of the Olympic legacy, and most have a volunteer club running coaching and loan bikes. Each card says which kind of track it is, and where a track is run by a club or ridden in booked sessions.
The guide goes round London clockwise: North and West London, East London, South East London and then South West London. Heading out of town? See pump tracks in the South East for Surrey, Kent and the counties west, or pump tracks in the East of England for Essex and Hertfordshire. For what to ride, what to wear, track etiquette and the other regions, see our guide to pump tracks in the UK.
