I am happy to share that after a long break, the Trail of the Year campaign is back for 2023. You can start voting now by rating and reviewing any trail on the site.

New Builds

BikePark Wales

BikePark Wales is close to opening Boomslang, a black-graded natural feel, steep, tech trail. The bird nesting season interrupted the build so due now early 2023. I've lost count of how many awesome trails are here.

Bolehills BMX

Bolehills BMX is planning for May 2023 to have a new backset line finished, a whole new split third straight line and loads more. Also, in the works is a documentary of Bolehills BMX from 1983 to the present day, immortalising an amazing record of living BMX history.
Thetford Forest Mountain Bike Trails
Thetford Forest Mountain Bike Trails have the contractors in to do phased improvements to their red Lime Burner trail. The Helter Skelter section has had a revamp and there is a new section after Little Em. More phases to come.
FoD
Verderers at the Forest of Dean re-opened in December after the work to refurbish seven different sections and add some tasty new bits was completed.
QECP
The new Lite Blue trail opening at QECP got postponed by a month to the 21st January.
Cavehill Mountain Bike Trails
Cavehill Mountain Bike trails has recently launched in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Pipeline or Pipe Dreams?

Dunoon MTB
Dunoon are planning a fully-fledged Bike Park set up by the Autumn of 2023 in Dunoon.
Belvoir MTB
Belvoir BikePark (on the border of Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, in the Vale of Belvoir) is a proposed project has a live crowdfunder and aims to launch in the Summer of 2024.

Tirpentwys Mountain Bike Trail
Tirpentwys Mountain Bike Trail can be found in Pontypool in South Wales. They consist of 6 hand-carved tracks which are steep with swooping berms, jumps, and drop-offs.
Bexhill
Bexhill BMX Race Track, Jump Park, and Skate Park can be found in Bexhill-On-Sea in East Sussex. It’s free to ride and open to the public. It’s floodlit so can be used in the winter months.
Warley Bike Park
Warley Bike Park and dirt jumps can be found in Essex. There are over 10 lines from single track/berms lines / small tables lines / big tables lines, small doubles, and big doubles.
Barry Sidings Mountain Bike Trails
Barry Sidings Mountain Bike Trails can be found in Barry Sidings Country Park, Pontypridd in the Rhondda Cynon Taff region of South Wales. The trail styles are downhill, bike park style ranging from blue flow trails to black technical gnarl.

Closures

Revolution Bike Park
Revolution Bike Park closes its doors indefinitely. Hopefully returning down the line one day!
Cwmdown
CWMDOWN Uplift at Cwmcarn will be closing their doors sadly at the end of January as it is no longer financially viable to run.
Quench Cycles
At Bedgebury Quench Cycles have gone into administration. New owners being sought.

Other Bits of News

Durris
Graviate North East's plan to deliver 35+ miles of trails in Durris Forest, have hit a challenge as working with the topography of the area isn't financially viable. Search for a new location begins.
Tarland
Tarland Trails has been awarded £100k in funding. This is for Tarland Trails phase 2 project set to launch in spring 2023. Not long now.
