Woburn Bike Park: Green line bedded in as volunteers refresh classic trails

Woburn Bike Park: Green line bedded in as volunteers refresh classic trails

Matt Jones’ latest build update shows the new green line taking shape at Woburn, alongside volunteer-led rebuilds of Transfer Line and Watch Your Back.

After heavy rain exposed drainage issues across the hill, attention has shifted to making the new green downhill line work properly year-round. The top section already runs with wide, rollable berms and mellow rollers, but the lower half has now been reworked to remove what Matt described as a “motorway” feel. New wave-style rollers and a super-mellow tabletop have been added, keeping it fully rollable while giving beginners something to learn on and stronger riders something to pump.

At the same time, local volunteers have been using machine-delivered sand to upgrade existing classics. Transfer Line has been moved higher up the hill to avoid clashing with the new green, widened, and reshaped into a faster S-bend with new jump options. Watch Your Back is also being refreshed, with new features planned. Matt closes the video with a clear nod to the dig crew working while the park is closed, highlighting that the rebuild isn’t just about new machine-cut lines but strengthening the legacy network too.
