Description
Woburn Bike Park is located in Aspley Woods near Woburn Sands in Bedfordshire. A full rebuild of the bike park is currently underway, led by Matt Jones with the support of the Woburn Estate, following large-scale forestry clearance that has created a clean slate for new trails and jump lines. The project is delivering a formal public bike park with purpose-built flow trails, dirt jumps, and progression-focused riding zones. The bike park is currently closed during construction, with reopening planned for 2026. This listing will be updated as the rebuild progresses.

- Reopening is planned for 2026.
Rebuild overview
The rebuild represents a complete reset of Woburn Bike Park following forestry works that removed trees, stumps, and legacy trail infrastructure. Gradients across the site have been reshaped using machinery, enabling wider trails, longer runs, and jump layouts not previously possible. Drainage has also been addressed as part of the rebuild, including the creation of a new pond to manage water runoff.
Flow Line – Blue (Flowburn)
A new machine-built Blue flow trail has been completed from the top of the hill to the bottom of the site. Named Flowburn, this is described as the longest and most accessible trail the bike park has had, designed as an on-ramp into the wider bike park.
- Top-to-bottom layout using the full height of the hill.
- Wide machine-shaped berms and consistent trail width.
- Long, fully rollable tabletops with optional jump lines.
- Optional features on the outside lines, with rollable inside options throughout.
- A corkscrew-style finish leading back to the return route.
Technique and progression area
The existing technique area is being significantly expanded to better bridge the gap between beginner features and the main jump lines.
- Higher and wider roll-in to support multiple lines.
- Tabletop lines paired with corresponding gap jump options.
- Parallel lines offering increasing height and distance.
- Wide landings designed to allow transfers between lines.
- The area now runs further downhill and into the valley, creating a much longer progression section.
Dirt jumps
- The dirt jump area has recently been rebuilt and reshaped (referred to as an eight-pack layout.), with multiple take-off options and shared landings linking back into the wider trail network.
- The line runs continuously down the slope and has been tested on both dirt jump bikes and trail bikes.
- Additional step-ups and fly-out style features are being added alongside larger jumps to provide alternative options.
- Lips and landings are being built wide, with multiple ride lines and transfer options.
New downhill freeride track (black grade)
- A new downhill track is currently being built alongside the existing trail network at Woburn Bike Park. The line has been ridden and described as black-graded, running parallel to an existing blue trail to provide a clear progression option.
- The track starts from a roll-in and features a sequence of shaped elements including shark fins, hips, cambered rollers, and large landings. The layout is designed to link turns and features continuously down the hill rather than follow a straight fall-line.
- Initial test riding has taken place, with further shaping and finishing work still ongoing. The new line is yet to be named.
Trail layout changes
- Previous crossing lines in the jump area are being removed or rerouted.
- Jump lines have been repositioned to avoid track crossings, reflecting the move to a formal public bike park layout.
- Some historic lines have been retained in modified form to allow continued machine access during construction.
