Description
Pendle Pump Track is a 400 metre BMX pump track at the Steven Burke Sports Hub in Barrowford, near Nelson, also known as Pendle Panthers BMX Pump Track and Nelson Pump Track. It opened in 2018 and is free to ride. Pendle's newer Marsden Park Pump Track is about two kilometres away.
The Track
- Dirtworks built the track using the natural lie of the land, with hard-packed rollers, asphalt berms and an asphalt start among the trees. An inner track suits beginners, and there is a smaller area for practising trials skills.
- The sign asks riders to go anti-clockwise on all routes and follow the arrows, with no dogs and no motorbikes.
- Wear a suitable helmet and ride with someone else. The track suits riders from about six or seven years old.
The Club
- Pendle Panthers BMX, part of Cycle Sport Pendle, meets at the track on Saturday mornings from 9.30am with British Cycling qualified coaches. The track is free to use at all other times.
Also at the Hub
- The Steven Burke Sports Hub also has a closed road cycle circuit, which can be booked through Pendle Council, and a clubhouse.
