Description
Mitcheldean Dirt Jumps is a free dirt jump field on the parish council's playing fields in Mitcheldean, on the northern edge of the Forest of Dean. It is a long-standing local spot, well used by younger riders, with the community centre, play area and football pitch alongside.
The Jumps
- Two dirt jump lines of tabletops and rollers in a field beside the village playing fields, joined by a berm at the far end.
- The lines were dug out and reshaped in 2025 with a digger and local volunteers, after they had become overgrown, and Mitcheldean Parish Council looks after the site.
- For bigger, graded lines, Steam Mills Dirt Jumps in Cinderford is a couple of miles south.
Also at the Playing Fields
- Mitcheldean Community Centre, a football pitch, a children's play area and an outdoor gym.
Getting Here
- Turn off the B4224 at the blue sign for Mitcheldean Playing Fields and Community Centre, about 100 metres past the Town Hall. The Playing Fields, Townsend, Mitcheldean, GL17 0BQ.
- The playing field car park is a public car park with around 30 spaces, shared with the football club, so it fills up on match days.
- There is also a lower entrance to the jumps from Glebe Close.
