Description
Marple Memorial Park Pump Track is a new asphalt pump track in Marple Memorial Park, Marple, Stockport. On Track built it as part of Stockport Council's Sport England-funded Active Communities improvements to the park, and it opened in October 2026 on a grassy rise with views out to the hills.
The Track
- A black asphalt pump track in two linked loops, with berms at each end, rollers on the way into and out of every berm, and a tabletop in the middle. Orange markings line the berm edges, and arrows show the riding direction.
- Next to it, the council's design adds a learn-to-ride area in porous asphalt and a looping roller path, so new riders have a gentler place to start before moving onto the main track.
- The pump track idea came from pupils at Marple Hall School. Walk Ride Marple, the Friends of Marple Memorial Park and other local groups helped shape the design.
The Skate Park
- Marple Memorial Park also has a skate park, so riders can move between the two in one visit.
Also in the Park
- Marple Memorial Park has play areas for toddlers and older children, a multi-use games area for football and basketball, a bowling green, a French boules court and a sensory garden.
- Toilets with baby changing are open during park hours; Stockport Council notes there are no accessible toilets.
Nearby
- Brabyns BMX Track is a hard-packed BMX and mountain bike loop in Brabyns Park, Marple Bridge, just over a kilometre to the north.
