Description
Beggarwood Park Pump Track is an asphalt pump track in Beggarwood Park, on the south-west side of Basingstoke. Clark and Kent Contractors designed and built it, and it is a modest loop of rollers, berms and small jumps that suits beginner and intermediate riders on BMX bikes, mountain bikes, scooters, skateboards and inline skates.
The Track
The track is a continuous asphalt loop of rollers, berms and small jumps, so riders can keep their momentum going lap after lap. Grassed mounds sit between the lines, and it is laid out among mature trees in the park. It is modest in size and scale, and Clark and Kent Contractors, who built it, describe it as a track for beginner to intermediate riders. Its asphalt surface is also used by skateboarders, rollerbladers and scooter riders, so expect to share it.
It is part of the council's public park, so you can ride it without a booking.

Beggarwood Park is a Local Nature Reserve looked after by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. Alongside the pump track there is a children's play area, a timber wild zone, outdoor gym equipment, an amphitheatre, picnic benches and a network of footpaths. Cafe in the Park is in Beggarwood Community Centre on the edge of the park. For a longer asphalt track elsewhere in town, Basingstoke Pump Track in War Memorial Park was built by Velosolutions.
Getting Here
Beggarwood Park is off Broadmere Road in Basingstoke, RG22 4XD. There is limited free parking at Cafe in the Park, and more at the Co-operative food shop in Beggarwood, where charges apply after the first hour. Parking charges and limits are set by the operators, so check the signs on the day. The track is a short walk through the park, and you can also walk in from Beggarwood Lane, Woodbury Road, or the path from Wallop Drive in Hatch Warren.
