Description

Ferndale Pump Track is an asphalt pump track built by Trailcraft for Rhondda Cynon Taf Council in 2025, beside the Rhondda Fach Active Travel Route in Ferndale. It sits on land used to store material from a Storm Dennis landslip, and it is designed for BMX bikes, balance bikes and scooters as well as any other bike.

The Track

  • Asphalt rollers, berms and cambered turns inside a low timber fence. Trailcraft designed and built it in spring 2025.
  • Rhondda Cynon Taf Council built it on the former landslip receptor site, where material from the Llanwonno tip was stored after Storm Dennis in 2020. The council planned it for riders of all ages and abilities.
  • We have not seen an official opening announced, so if you have ridden it, please let us know how you found it.

Getting Here

  • Off Station Road and Taff Street, Ferndale, CF43 4PN. The Rhondda Fach Active Travel Route passes right by, and Ferndale station is a few minutes' walk away.
