Description

Twechar Pump Track is a brand new 240m asphalt pump track next to the Twechar Healthy Living and Enterprise Centre in East Dunbartonshire, built by Velosolutions UK for East Dunbartonshire Council. It's split into a main pump track, a dedicated beginner loop and an advanced jump line, so there's genuinely something for every level, from first-timers on balance bikes to experienced BMX and mountain bike riders.

The Trails

  • Main pump track: an asphalt circuit of rollers, berms and jumps, ridden by pumping rather than pedalling. Suitable for BMX bikes, mountain bikes, scooters and skateboards.
  • Beginner loop: a dedicated, lower-intensity line so younger or less experienced riders can build confidence before tackling the main track.
  • Advanced jump line: a separate line of bigger jumps for experienced riders after more air time.

Beyond the Trails

The track sits right next to the Twechar Healthy Living and Enterprise Centre, home to a cafe (the Tea Room, open seven days a week for soups, home baking and hot food), a pharmacy and a GP surgery. The newly built Twechar Outdoor Pursuits Centre is a short walk away on the Forth and Clyde Canal, offering canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding and a bike workshop, so there's plenty to fill a full day out beyond the track itself.

Getting Here

Twechar Healthy Living and Enterprise Centre, St John's Way, Twechar, East Dunbartonshire, G65 9TA. The pump track is right beside the centre, close to the Forth and Clyde Canal towpath. Park at the centre unless told otherwise for a specific event.
