Moors Valley Mountain Bike Forum has confirmed that works on the Watchmoor Bike Park project will begin on 6th May, following a competitive tendering process involving four different contractors. Trail builders On Track have been appointed to deliver the new design and improvements.

The works will start with section 14 of the singletrack, chosen for its smaller scope and the opportunity to complete it in time for the May half term. Attention will then turn to the main Watchmoor area.
Since the previous Velosolutions proposal, a number of changes have been made. These include the addition of a new red trail line and a commitment to ensuring the green skills loop will be suitable for accessible bikes—a welcome move towards greater inclusion.
The Forum has asked for riders’ cooperation during the construction period. Please respect any site closures or track bedding-in periods. Riding unfinished lines can damage fresh work and lead to delays, with builders forced to revisit previous day’s progress.
This milestone follows earlier community discussions and updates on the challenges the project has faced, which you can read more about here.
We’ll continue to share updates as works progress. Thanks to everyone for your patience and support.
July 2025 Update
The latest update from the Moors Valley Mountain Bike Forum confirms that work at Watchmoor is progressing well and expected to continue for about a month. Riders are kindly asked to hold off using the trail while the final touches — including signage and maps — are put in place. A small launch party is also being planned once everything’s ready to go.
