Five months after its tool station was stolen, Tarland Trails has new ones at Drummy Woods and Pittenderich, and a third donated by Pedro's.
Tarland Trails in Aberdeenshire has replaced the tool station stolen from its Pittenderich car park in May, and come out of it with three. The trail group announced them in a run of three Facebook posts in mid October 2026, summing it up as lose one tool station, gain three
Drummy Woods pump track
The first new station is at the pump track at Drummy Woods, the smaller of the two Tarland Trails sites, nearer the village. Tarland Trails described it as gift number one following the theft.
Pittenderich shelter
The second is at the shelter in the car park at Pittenderich, where the old one stood. It was paid for by the community JustGiving fundraiser launched after the theft, which has raised £1,510 against a £1,500 target from 59 donations. Tarland Trails thanked every donor by name, among them local businesses Grampian Campervan Hire, ML Tree Services, SICD Ltd and Concept Designs. Both new stations were set up by Mike, of ML Tree Services, whom the group thanked in each post.
A replacement from Pedro's
The stolen station was a Pedro's tool station donated by Tyred n Cranky CIC. After seeing Tarland's post about the theft, Alex from Pedro's Europe got in touch and offered to replace it, and the group took delivery of a new Pedro's Burrito tool station in October. Where it goes has not been decided yet: Tarland Trails says it wants to make it as secure as possible first.
