Volunteers at Pooley Park Mountain Bike Club in Warwickshire have completed a run of four jumps on the back row of the new Skills Area, with the final work carried out across two sessions by a small team of dedicated trail builders.

Work over the two sessions covered reshaping the second jump on the back row into a hip, redoing the third jump (which was buried under a tangle of brambles), and adding a new fourth jump, before finishing off wacker plating and shaping the lips to complete the feature.

Alongside the Skills Area work, the club has also been making progress on the black trail, with ongoing work on the drop features there.

The Skills Area is part of Phase 1 of a wider rebuild project at Pooley Country Park, designed to give local riders a safe and progressive space to learn and develop. Plans include beginner-friendly features, rollers, small jumps, cornering zones and flow sections, with the longer-term vision covering expanded trails, coaching and youth development.

The club has noted that volunteer numbers at dig days have been lower than hoped, and is encouraging more riders to come forward. Even an hour or two, the club says, makes a real difference. Riders interested in getting involved can look out for upcoming volunteer dig sessions on the Pooley Park Mountain Bike Club Facebook page
