Description

Pooley Mountain Bike Trails

Pooley Park MTB is a small volunteer-built site at Pooley Country Park near Polesworth in Warwickshire, with a blue-graded trail for newer and family riders alongside red and black downhill runs. The local club, working with Community Ride Project CIC, runs regular trail days and is fundraising towards a new skills area as Phase 1 of a wider rebuild.

The Trails

Riding at Pooley Park is spread across three short, purpose-built trails: an easier blue route aimed at newer and family riders, and red and black lines with jumps, berms and drops for more experienced downhill riders. Existing features are kept up by regular volunteer trail days, funded in part by donations, most recently a rebuild of "The Booter" jump.

Local Organisation

Pooley Park Mountain Bike Club, working with Community Ride Project CIC, is fundraising to build a dedicated skills area as Phase 1 of a longer-term plan for the site, with beginner-friendly features, progressive rollers, cornering zones and space for coaching and community sessions. Volunteer trail days run through the year, though dry spells can harden the ground and pause digging for a while. Follow progress or donate via the club's Facebook page or its JustGiving page.

Gravel Riding

The Coventry Canal towpath, part of the National Cycle Network, runs along the edge of Pooley Country Park and links through to Polesworth, Alvecote and Tamworth. It is a genuine gravel-friendly route on a well-surfaced towpath, worth combining with a visit to the trails for anyone riding wider tyres.

Getting Here

From the car park, head towards the motorway and pass under its bridge, then cross the canal via the bridge. The skills area is on the right once through the gates, with the main trails a short ride up the hill.
