The proposal, officially titled "Develop and construct a mountain bike skills area at land 210m south east of Dumyat Farm, Blairlogie, Stirling", was recently given the green light by the local council. It’s a huge milestone in what has been a long-term vision from local riders and volunteers to bring more progression-focused MTB facilities to the area. It is expected to include green, blue and red tracks.

The Ochil Trail Association shared: “There has been a lot of time, effort and input by many to get things to this stage. There is still a long way to go and lots to do but things are moving in the right direction!”

The skills park is just one element of the Association’s broader mission to protect, promote and preserve trails across the Ochil Hills and surrounding regions. As a grassroots volunteer collective, Ochil Trail Association works to ensure outdoor spaces are accessible, sustainable and thriving for future generations — blending trail care with a love for nature, hiking and community.

Each of these trail areas plays a role in the wider vision for a sustainable and connected riding experience in the Stirling and Clackmannanshire region.

Since forming in 2024, the group has grown to include a dedicated team of volunteers and over 20 community partners. Their work not only supports riders, but also helps promote outdoor access, environmental conservation, and a thriving local trail culture.

Everyone is welcome to get involved — whether you're a rider, walker, dig volunteer or local resident who wants to help care for the hills. Check out their site at ochiltrails.org to learn more or get involved.
