Join the Tweed Valley Trail Association for a morning's work on the trails to get them running sweet. No experience necessary. TVTA runs a series of public dig sessions which target different trails depending on the weather and the number of volunteers, so the exact trail is set nearer the time. The session is free and runs 9:30am to 1pm.
TVTA meet and register volunteers at Innerleithen Memorial Hall and aim to head up the hill shortly afterwards. There will be a few vehicles travelling up, so most people should get close to the site without too much hassle, and you are welcome to cycle up instead. Don't worry if you have limited experience, there will be plenty of people with trail experience to guide you.
Bring suitable clothing and footwear. If you have steel toe capped boots, wear them; if not, strong sturdy boots will be sufficient. TVTA recommend bringing a waterproof, and ask that you aim to be self-sufficient on food and water.
Please sign in at the start of the session and out at the end, and make sure any tools you use are handed back to the TVTA team before you leave. TVTA send more information by email a few days before each dig. If you can't make it for any reason, cancel your booking so the space can go to someone who can.
