Description
Tilston Pump Track is an asphalt pump track on Tilston Playing Field, near Malpas. It opened in May 2019 as part of a 15,000 pound upgrade by the Tilston Playing Field Association and Tilston Parish Council, and riders come from far and wide to use it.
The Track
- Joe Baddeley designed the track. Several asphalt lines with white edge markings run over tall grassed mounds, linked by berms.
- Because it is finished in asphalt, it suits skateboards, scooters, inline skates and wheelchairs as well as bikes, and it is built for all ages, from the very young to experienced riders.
- The association's signs ask for no motorised vehicles, no e-bikes and no e-scooters.
Also on the Field
- Tilston Playing Field is a Fields in Trust site run by the Tilston Playing Field Association, a local charity, without council funding. It also has a playground with a zip wire, a football pitch, a multi-use games area, an exercise area and a pavilion for hire.
