Description
Summerseat Pump Track is a free woodland pump track on Summerseat Island in Summerseat, Bury, built by Dirt Factory. It is a single hard-packed loop of rollers and berms with optional jump lines, suitable for mountain bikes, BMX bikes, scooters and skateboards, from first-timers to confident riders.
The Track
- The loop is built in hard-packed gravel, with rollers and berms running round the woodland clearing.
- A start and rest area and ramp entrances let you roll in without pedalling up to speed.
- Optional jump lines sit on the loop at two levels: one for beginners moving up to intermediate, one for intermediate riders moving up to advanced.
- It is designed for riders of all skill levels, with children, young people and families in mind, and for scooters and skateboards as well as bikes.
- Dirt Factory designed and built the track in its current form, reshaping the original mounds and berms the village children once dug.

Summerseat Island also has a basketball court and woodland paths.
Getting Here
The track is on Summerseat Island, off Kay Street in Summerseat, Bury, BL9 5QJ. There is no car park, only limited street parking nearby, so plan ahead and consider walking or cycling in. From the road, walk under the viaduct, through the gate and down the path to the track. The entrance path can be muddy after rain.
