Description

Rough Park BMX Track sits in a woodland clearing in Rough Park, a local nature reserve in Woodside, Telford. It is a compact BMX track of two looped sections, and the council also lists it as the Woodside BMX track.

The Track

  • The track is laid out as two looped sections in a clearing, with woodland all around it.
  • The track was built in 2015 with a Veolia Environmental Trust grant secured by the Friends of Rough Park, with support from Telford and Wrekin Council.
  • In the school holidays Telford and Wrekin Council has run BMX sessions here with Telford Flyers BMX, as part of its Urban Games programme.

Also in the Park

  • Rough Park is a 42 hectare local nature reserve of woodland and meadow on a former opencast site. Its footpaths link Lightmoor, Dawley, Madeley, Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge, so the track is easy to fit into a longer ride.

Getting Here

  • Head for Woodside Avenue, Woodside, Telford, TF7 5TY.
  • There is no car park, so the council suggests parking on Woodside Avenue and the nearby roads.
