Description

Rayne BMX Pump Track is a dirt track of rollers and berms down the side of the playing field at Rayne Village Hall, a couple of miles west of Braintree. Local riders led the design and fundraising, and it opened in 2012.

The Track

  • A line of rollers and berms built from dirt and hard-packed fines, running along the playing field under an oak. "In 2012, after hard work designing and fund-raising led by Jamie-Lee Bamford and Ollie Dome plus various grants awarded, the ยฃ12,000 BMX track was installed at the side of the playing fields" (Rayne Village Hall).
  • The hall's volunteers top it up with fresh dirt.

Also on the Field

  • The playing field has football and cricket pitches, a skate ramp, a youth shelter, a playground, and an outdoor gym and trim trail.
  • The hall and field are run by a volunteer committee as a self-funded registered charity.

Getting Here

  • Rayne Village Hall, Gore Road, Rayne, CM77 6TX. There is ample parking at the hall.
