Description
Preston Pirates BMX Track is a floodlit BMX race track on Fishwick Recreation Ground, London Road, Preston. It is the home of Preston Pirates BMX Club, one of the largest clubs in the north, and it hosts regional races.
The Track
- The track opened in 2006. A 2013 revamp lengthened it to national standard and added drainage and floodlights for year-round riding. Two berms were reprofiled in 2025 with funding from the club and Preston City Council.
- Hard-packed rollers and tabletops run between berms, with a transponder timing loop.
The Club
- Preston Pirates BMX Club is run by volunteers and has more than 100 members. It runs Intro to BMX and Intermediate sessions on Saturday mornings, gate practice on Tuesday evenings and mentoring sessions on some Wednesdays, with booking through the Spond app.
- The track may be closed to the public during busy club sessions, so check the club's website first.
