Description
Pontesbury Pump Track is a compact two-straight BMX-style pump track in the village of Pontesbury, south-west of Shrewsbury in Shropshire. Built by Clark and Kent Contractors for Pontesbury Parish Council, it sits beside a children's play area and was designed as a first track for newer riders, with enough rhythm to keep more experienced riders interested too.
The Track
The layout is two straights with tabletops, rollers and jumps, shaped to fit a site that runs alongside a busy footpath and bridleway. Clark and Kent chose the two-straight design after local consultation, which keeps the riding line compact so that riders and people walking or cycling past can share the space safely. It works as an introduction to BMX for new riders and as a test for more experienced ones.

Access
The track is a public village facility managed by Pontesbury Parish Council, which looks after it alongside the play area and the village green. There is no club or booking system, so riders simply turn up.
Getting Here
Pontesbury is on the A488 south-west of Shrewsbury. The track is on the northern side of the village, beside the children's play area and a short walk from The Pavilion on Hall Bank. If your satnav struggles to find it, use SY5 0RF for The Pavilion and walk from there.
