Wind Hill B1KE Park sits on the Longleat Estate near Warminster in Wiltshire and is built entirely for downhill and freeride riding, for everyone from first-timers to seasoned pros. There are ten graded trails, from the mellow blue of Blutopia through a run of reds and technical blacks up to Viagra Falls, the park's Pro Line test piece, plus The Step Up, a standalone freeride feature for dialling in jumps and tricks. It is a pay-to-ride, push-up park with no uplift, run by B1KE, an operator that runs several parks across the south of England.

The Trails

Ten graded trails run down the hill, split across downhill and freeride lines, plus The Step Up as a standalone feature. There is no uplift, so you push or pedal back to the top between runs.

• Blutopia (Blue, 1 Dot): the park's easiest line and a good introduction to the hill.
• The Left Hand Side (Red, 1 Dot): a gentler, Red-graded alternative to Pass the Dutchie, with the same flowing, technical feel in a less demanding package.
• Tina Turner (Red, 2 Dot)
• Empuru (Red, 2 Dot): one of the newer additions to the trail roster.
• Pay Rise (Red, 3 Dot)
• Feed 'em to the Lions (Black, 3 Dot)
• Rootiful South (Black, 3 Dot)
• Ark at EE (Black, 3 Dot)
• Pass the Dutchie (Black, 2 Dot): a technical, natural trail that only requires optional airtime, with off-camber roots and an optional rock garden. Line choices mean it can be ridden by relative novices, though mastering it takes real skill.
• Viagra Falls (Pro Line, 3 Dot): Wind Hill's Pro Line test piece, for experienced riders only.
• The Step Up (Black, 3 Dot): a standalone, trickable jump feature rather than a full run down the hill.

In 2017, Wind Hill was awarded the iBikeRide Trail and Bike Park of the Year crown.

Skills and Coaching

The trails at Wind Hill are built along a clear progression pathway, so riders can work up through the grades as their skills develop. B1KE run coaching on site, from one-to-one tuition to group sessions, for anyone who wants structured help rather than just laps.

Facilities and Prices

There are toilets on site and a cabin selling hot and cold drinks and snacks, though it's worth bringing your own food and water as backup since options are limited. Day passes start at £15, and B1KE also offers membership packages, including a rolling monthly pass, for riders who visit regularly. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult. Check b1ke.com for current prices, as all visits must be booked online in advance, there is no walk-up payment on site.

Getting Here

Wind Hill B1KE Park has its own dedicated car park on The Red Way, Warminster, BA12 7NW, a short distance along the road from the main Longleat Estate entrance. Do not follow signs for Longleat Safari Park: the bike park car park is separately signposted from the main road, so watch for the B1KE signs. Parking is limited, so share a lift with friends where you can.
