Description
Josh's Jumps is an asphalt pump track in Queens Road Park, Vicars Cross, Chester, also known as the Vicars Cross Bike Track. It is a memorial to Josh Easton, a 12-year-old Christleton High School pupil and keen cyclist, and the Duke of Westminster opened it in March 2010.
The Track
- Clark and Kent built the track in three weeks, working with local riders and the parish council, and finished it in asphalt with line markings.
- A serpentine of asphalt rollers and berms runs over grassed mounds, so you can carry speed without pedalling once you have the rhythm.
- The Duke of Westminster's charitable trust contributed 5,000 pounds towards it.
Also in the Park
- Queens Road Park has a multi-use games area for football and basketball, swings, picnic tables and the Queens Road woodland and play area.
