Description
High Street and Ullswater is a challenging Lake District mountain route from Patterdale, taking in the 828m High Street summit and four or more additional peaks before finishing on the famous technical bridleway along Ullswater. It blends tough climbing with long sections of natural singletrack and demanding technical descents.

The Route
- Starting from Patterdale, the route climbs through Hartsop and Hayeswater to the 828m summit of High Street itself.
- A long singletrack ridge crossing follows, with views across Ullswater and the north-eastern Lake District, before descending from The Cockpit to Howtown.
- The return leg follows the famous technical bridleway along the lakeshore back to the car. It is a big day out, not suitable for those new to mountain riding.

- Start from Patterdale village at the southern end of Ullswater (CA11). Parking is available in the village.
