Description

Coppull BMX Track is a BMX race track off Chisnall Lane in Coppull, near Chorley. It has been home to Mid Lancs BMX since 1987, and it is a public facility open to riders at any time.

The Track

  • Mid Lancs BMX began in 1981 at a quarry track in Chorley. When that closed, Chorley Council offered land in Coppull, and club volunteers built the access road and then the track, which opened in 1987. It hosted the national BMX championships in the mid 1990s.
  • Hard-packed straights run between asphalt berms, from an asphalt start straight, with floodlight columns round the track.

The Club

  • Mid Lancs BMX maintains the track and holds club events here, with coaching through a rider development programme and monthly club races. Novice riders do not need a British Cycling licence for club and regional races, and the club lends most kit. Check the club's Facebook page for session times.
