Description

CafesideMTB Bike Park is a small, currently closed bike park located on Haldon Hill near Exeter. Run by a core team of six local riders as a Community Interest Company (CIC), the project is working towards an official reopening in 2025. The park features a network of hand-built and nationally recognised trails and features, including flowy downhill singletrack and progressive freeride lines with jumps, drops, and technical elements.

Although the site is currently closed, the team has been maintaining existing trails and planning new lines.

Cafeside MTB is not part of the nearby Haldon Forest trail centre but is located on the opposite side of Haldon Hill, near the A380 and Haldon Grill. Interim car parking solutions are being arranged while a dedicated facility is pursued.

Please note: the trails are officially closed and not safe to ride. Riding or digging before the official reopening could jeopardise the future of the park.

Trail Descriptions

Advanced Hand-Built Trails

  • The existing network includes flowy downhill runs and progressive lines with jumps, drops, and technical features. While the park is currently closed, the team continues to maintain and improve the trails ahead of reopening.
    • Work is underway to repair features on About Time, and how “New Intro” will wind its way from the proposed trailhead to Rusty Pram and Slush Puppy is being scoped.
    • First priority will be getting the existing top half trails like V2, Slush, Sweet and Sour etc. ready for opening day. Then the 50/50 jump area will be the next priority. Once those are up and running, likely adding new features to the existing trails whilst they plan what new trails are going in and where.
