Buck Woods in Thackley on the edge of Bradford is an urban BMX / Pump track with a number of jumps and drops for all abilities.

Buck Woods Track

  • The Buck Woods skills track is built on an existing bank formed from excavations of an old railway tunnel which runs underneath the wood.
  • It is formed in an oval shape with tabletops and doubles with progression of skills for abilities designed in.
  • It is also surrounded by the woods of Calverley, Esholt & Buck Woods itself so it is often a good place to start a non way marked XC ride with a bit of a play.
  • Clubs

  • Bradford BMX Bandits is a club based in Peel Park, Bradford, with it's own track there which competes in BMX racing contests nationally and internationally.
  • Other Stuff

  • The Friends of Buck Woods Society & Crosstrax drove the plan with Bradford Council in around 2006.
  • SingletrAction were involved in making this happen with over 300+ Voluntary man hours spent in to completing this.¬†SingletrAction act as caretakers in cooperation with Bradford City Council. They typically hold a few evening build sessions in late spring to address any issues, and tweak any features that need it and carry out any work requested by BCC. Bradford City Council have a very positive and progressive attitude towards MTBing and SingletrAction have worked with them a number of times on projects.
