Description
Bruntwood Park BMX Track is a competition-standard BMX race track in Bruntwood Park, Cheadle. Stockport Council calls it a world class BMX race track, and it is free to ride in protective clothing outside club sessions.
The Track
- This is a full BMX race track, rebuilt to competition standard and reopened in April 2014. Pale hard-packed straights run between asphalt berms, from a start hill down to the finish.
- It hosts regional BMX races as well as the club's own summer race series for newer riders.
The Club
- Bruntwood Park BMX Club looks after the track with its volunteers. It runs coached sessions on Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings, including a session for beginners who can already ride a bike on the flat, with booking through the Spond app.
- The track closes to the public while club sessions run, including on Saturday mornings, so check the club's site before you go.
- You can hire a bike, helmet, pads and gloves for a session. Your own BMX, jump bike or mountain bike is fine, but no stunt pegs.
Also in the Park
- Bruntwood Park has an 18-hole pitch and putt course, an accessible children's playground, a refreshment kiosk and a restaurant in the Victorian conservatory.
