Description
Ponciau Banks BMX Track is a free track in Ponciau Banks Park, between Ponciau and Rhosllanerchrugog near Wrexham. Installed in 2006, it is open all year, and it rides like a pump track, with big asphalt berms and lanes of rollers and doubles beside the park's skate park.
The Track
- Two big asphalt berms at the ends, linked by lanes of rollers and doubles and an outer loop along the fence. The start slope and berms are asphalt, and some of the straights are a mix of asphalt and gravel.
- Wrexham Council installed it in 2006 and keeps it open to the public all year. Qualified coaches sometimes run BMX sessions in the school holidays: call 01978 844028 to check.
The Skate Park
- Skate ramps and a youth shelter sit right next to the track.
Also in the Park
- Two crown green bowling greens (Ponciau Banks Park Bowling Club), tennis and basketball courts, a fenced play area, a bandstand and a Gorsedd Circle from the park's Eisteddfod days, with views over the Cheshire plain.
- Dogs are welcome under control. Drones are not allowed in Wrexham parks.
Getting Here
