Vallåsen Bike Park

Vallåsen Bike Park is a lift-accessed downhill and mountain bike park on the Hallandåsen ridge in southern Sweden, right on the border between Halland and Skåne. The park now runs to 14 downhill and trail routes across a 14km network with 135m of vertical drop, graded green to black and served by a chairlift and a T-bar drag lift. A dedicated pump track, bike shop, bike hire and a campground right next to the trails make it easy to turn a visit into a full weekend, and a waymarked link trail connects through to Vallåsen's sister park at Kungsbygget, five kilometres away.

The Trails

• Loa's Green (Green): the park's longest run at 2.4km, a wide, family-friendly flow trail with sweeping turns, rollers and easy jumps. Good for a full first day on the bike, or as a warm-up for more experienced riders.
• Gröngölingen (Green): a 700m loop through the forest behind the campsite, with a couple of bridges, pump bumps, jumps and flowing turns.
• In n Out (Green): a short 300m link trail between the campsite and the main park.
• V-line (Blue): similar width to Loa's Green but steeper, with faster, more open terrain and fewer obstacles.
• Spruffs (Blue): a machine-built track packed with rollers and tight turns.
• Tårtan (Red): the park's flattest singletrack, littered with rocks, roots and tight turns.
• Maggan (Red): technical at the top with two challenging rock steps, then a mellower run over two bridges before a fast finish of jumps and drops. Riders who want to skip the top section can climb via Woodstock instead.
• Pipeline (Red): a park favourite mixing singletrack, built berms and small jumps at speed.
• Woodstock (Red): classic root-strewn singletrack that rewards good technique.
• Oua-Oua (Red): big berms, jumps and drops for riders who like speed and air.
• OLD (Black): the park's original trail, since rebuilt to combine steep, loose sections with flowing singletrack.
• DH-spåret (Black): the classic black race track, steep, rocky and genuinely tough.
• Lilla Kycklingen (Black): an eventful run bookended by two tricky steep sections.
• Tech Merchant (Black): a hand-dug trail winding through the spruce forest alongside DH-spåret.

A separate pump track next to the main trails gives you a flat loop of rollers and banked turns to ride without pedalling. Two marked climbing routes, East Climb (Blue) and West Climb (Red), let you pedal back to the top on a mix of trail and gravel road if you would rather not use the lift, and a five-kilometre link trail of tarmac, gravel and forest track connects through to Vallåsen's sister park at Kungsbygget. A combined Bike Pass covers the trails at both venues, plus Vallåsen's own lift.

Lift Passes and Prices

Riding at Vallåsen needs either a Bike Pass, which covers the lift and all trails, or a cheaper Trail Pass for riders climbing under their own power. A full-day adult Bike Pass currently costs 430 SEK, with a junior rate of 365 SEK for ages 7 to 15, plus half-day, multi-day and season pass options. Both passes also cover the trails at Kungsbygget, which has its own marked transport route back to the top rather than Vallåsen's chairlift and T-bar. Prices are correct as of September 2026 but subject to change, so check current rates on the venue's website before you book.

Opening Season

The lift runs from March to November, with around 153 riding days across the 2026 season. Vallåsen is open daily through the summer high season, on weekends during the spring and autumn shoulder months, and for selected weekday evening sessions on the T-bar lift. Trails are only open while the lift is operating. The venue publishes a detailed day-by-day calendar on its website, worth checking before you travel since hours vary through the season.

Facilities

The site has a bike shop, bike hire, a workshop for repairs, a café, showers and a campground right next to the trails, so it is easy to make a full day or a weekend of it. Vallåsen has run downhill, enduro and cross country races since the 1990s, and now also hosts the annual Vallåsen VeloFest.

Getting Here

Vallåsen Fritidsanläggning, Yllevad 154, 312 98 Våxtorp, Halland. There is a large free car park on site with space for motorhomes and caravans.

• From Båstad: follow road 115 towards Våxtorp and on towards Hallandåsen, then turn right at the roundabout in Våxtorp and follow the signs to Vallåsen.
• From Halmstad: take the E6 south towards Båstad, leave at exit 39 towards Våxtorp and follow the signs to Vallåsen.
• From Helsingborg: take the E6 north, leave at exit 39 towards Våxtorp and follow the signs to Vallåsen.
