Description

Highland Safaris Biketrax

Highland Safaris Biketrax was a free 900 metre mountain bike skills loop with natural cross-country trails, run by Highland Safaris near Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire. The facility has since closed. Riders visiting the area should head instead to Glassie Bike Park and Aberfeldy MTB Trails, a short drive away.

The Trails

  • The BikeTRAX Skills Loop was a 900 metre progressive skills track: a "SkillZone" warm-up section with drops, ramps, berms, seesaws and rock steps, leading into more technical sections (The Fault Line, The Plateau and the Corrie Berm), finishing with a technical uphill.
  • Natural trails for a range of ability levels set off from the centre, with further natural riding in the nearby Weem and Dull woods. A "Drop at the Top" uplift service was available to bypass the steep climb.

Getting Here

  • Highland Safaris' visitor centre remains open for its other activities (Land Rover safaris, Loch Tay cruises, archery and more) at Dull Road, Aberfeldy, PH15 2JQ, reached via the B846 past Castle Menzies.
  • For current mountain biking in the area, see Glassie Bike Park and Aberfeldy MTB Trails.

  • If you rode the BikeTRAX skills loop or the natural trails at Highland Safaris before it closed, please share your memories, photos and videos to this listing.
