Description
Haughton Park Pump Track and All-Ability Trail sits in Haughton Country Park on the edge of Alford, Aberdeenshire. It has a 220 m main pump track, a 40 m beginners pump track and a 310 m all-ability trail loop, all built by CRC Trails.
The Track
The main pump track is an asphalt loop with grass-covered mounds around it, laid out with different line options so riders can pick an easier or a more committing way round. The smaller 40 m beginners track is aimed at learning, including toddlers on balance bikes and riders on adaptive bikes. The park describes the facility as suitable for bikes, BMX, mountain bikes and other wheeled sports.
The All-Ability Trail
The 310 m all-ability trail loop is built for adaptive bikes, tricycles and wheelchairs, with skills sections where riders can build confidence.
Also in the Park
Haughton Country Park has two play areas, picnic tables and a riverside Trim Track with nine activity points, so there is plenty for non-riders while you session. Toilets are in the park, and Aberdeenshire Council says one block is open all year.
Getting Here
Haughton Country Park is on Montgarrie Road (AB33 8NA), on the outskirts of Alford, about 25 miles west of Aberdeen along the A944. The park car park has room for around 300 cars, and the park is open during the hours of daylight every day of the year. The pump track's own postcode is AB33 8FW.
