Description

Glasgow BMX Centre in Knightswood is a floodlit, UCI-accredited BMX race track run by Glasgow Life, with a 400 metre main track and an 8 metre start hill designed by Clark and Kent. It was built for the 2018 European Championships and has since hosted a UCI BMX World Cup round and the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, and everyday riders can book in too, with coached sessions, accreditation for newcomers and bike hire.

The Track

  • The main track is 400 metres long and 5 metres wide, with straights, rhythm sections, jumps, berms and rollers, and it runs down from an 8 metre start hill.
  • Clark and Kent designed and built the track, and it is one of only two UK tracks with an 8 metre drop start.
  • The track is floodlit and UCI accredited, and it was the venue for the 2018 UEC European BMX Championships, the opening round of the 2022 UCI BMX Racing World Cup and the BMX racing at the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.
  • A smaller pump track suits beginners, and the free pump track next door can be ridden at any time.
  • Everyone riding the race track has to gain track accreditation first. The accreditation stages are one hour each, and coached sessions are led by qualified staff.
  • Western Titans, Glasgow Riderz and Movement Park are all based at the centre.

Sessions and Prices

  • Sessions run from March to September, weather permitting, and are booked through the Glasgow Club app (search for the venue under Glasgow Club in the Park). Under 18 prices apply to everyone in the off-season.
  • Accreditation stages 1 and 2 are £11.50 for adults and £9.50 for juniors. A Rock-up and Ride session is £6.00 for adults and £4.75 for juniors, and ramp access (5 metre or 8 metre) is the same. Equipment hire is £5.25.
  • Family sessions, junior taster sessions for 8 to 10 year olds, club and school sessions are also offered, and birthday parties can be booked through the centre.
  • Prices are correct as of October 2026 but subject to change, so check current rates on the venue's website before you book.

Also in the Park

  • The Knightswood pump track beside the centre is an asphalt loop built by Clark and Kent, free to use and lit.
  • Bike and safety equipment hire is available, along with a meeting room that can be booked.
  • Accessible toilets are on site, and baby feeding is welcome anywhere in the building.
