Description
The Carbisdale mountain bike trails in Culrain, Sutherland, have been officially decommissioned by Forestry and Land Scotland and are no longer inspected or maintained. A sign at the site confirms this. The forest itself remains open to walkers and cyclists, and the paths can still be ridden, but riders do so at their own risk on unmaintained terrain. There is no waymarking in place.

For active, maintained mountain biking in the area, Balblair on the east side of the Kyle of Sutherland is the recommended alternative, with blue and black-graded trails that remain open and well maintained. The two sites are linked by the Shin Railway Viaduct footbridge.

- The trails were accessed from a car park at the Carbisdale Castle grounds, Culrain, IV24 3DP, off the A836 at Ardgay.
- Carbisdale Castle itself closed as a youth hostel and has also been closed for several years.
