Description
Victoria Park BMX Track is a small, free council BMX loop in Victoria Park, east Belfast, a narrow hard-packed track of gentle humps and turns winding through the grass. It is a relaxed place for young riders to learn, in a large park with a lake, a play park and paths beside Belfast Lough.
The Track
- The track is a narrow, hard-packed loop that winds through the grass with gentle humps and turns, more a learner's circuit than a race track.
- Belfast City Council lists Victoria Park among its BMX facilities, and the park is open 24 hours a day.
- Grass grows in at the edges and puddles sit in the dips after rain, so expect a soft, muddy ride in wet weather.
Also in the Park
- Victoria Park has a lake with an island, a playground, a multi-use games area, a bowling green, a trim trail, outdoor gym equipment and toilets.
Getting Here
- The track is on the grass between the play park and the Sydenham By-Pass, 2 Victoria Drive, Belfast, BT4 1QT.
- The free car park is reached through a tunnel off Park Avenue. On foot, cross from Airport Road by the footbridge or underpass.
- Metro bus 3 from the city centre stops at Inverary Drive, a short walk away.
