Description
Tollymore Skills Course – Bryansford, County Down can be found within the grounds of the Tollymore National Outdoor Centre on Hilltown Road, at the edge of Tollymore Forest Park near Newcastle. It’s a compact, purpose-built loop designed to help riders develop and refine core MTB techniques, with consistent surfaces, clear sightlines, and easy access to the Centre’s facilities.

Skills Course
A flowing 1.5 km singletrack-style circuit set under forest canopy, designed for coaching and self-led progression. The course mixes key skills features in a sessionable layout that suits riders of all levels.

Facilities
As part of the Tollymore National Outdoor Centre, riders have access to on-site parking, reception check-in, toilets, showers, changing rooms, and indoor teaching spaces. The Centre also provides bike hire (check availability ahead), a small café area, accommodation for groups, and workshop support. It’s a fully equipped hub for outdoor learning and mountain bike skills development in Northern Ireland.
Events and Community
The Centre regularly runs coached skills sessions, youth and school programmes, and club training days. These can be booked through the Tollymore National Outdoor Centre website.
Location and Access
The skills course is located within the Centre grounds, close to the entrance to Tollymore Forest Park. Riders sign in at reception before using the course and can follow on-site signage to the MTB area.
Directions
From Newcastle, follow the A2/A24 towards Bryansford and turn onto Hilltown Road (B180). The Tollymore National Outdoor Centre is signposted on the left before the forest park entrance. Use the main car park and follow marked paths to the MTB skills area.
