Description
Ards Blair Mayne Pump Track is a free asphalt pump track in the grounds of the Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex in Newtownards, County Down. It is a compact loop of rollers and berms in a tree-lined corner of the grounds, run by Ards and North Down Borough Council, with BMX coaching sessions on some evenings.
The Track
- The track is a looping asphalt circuit of rollers and berms, where riders keep their speed by pumping rather than pedalling. Bikes and scooters both use it.
- It sits in a tree-lined strip of the leisure complex grounds with a path along its edge, and there is a wheelpark near the building.
- Thunder Action Sports runs two-hour BMX coaching sessions on the track for riders aged 9 and over, booked in advance through Eventbrite, with bike hire available. Under 14s need a parent or guardian with them.
Also at the Complex
- The Ards Blair Mayne complex has a swimming pool, gym, soft play and Parklands Cafe, and its outdoor play park has a sensory garden and an accessible swing.
Getting Here
- Head for Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex, 1 Dairy Hall Lane, Newtownards BT23 4DB, and park at the complex. The pump track is in the wooded strip south-east of the building, along the path from the car park.
- More about the centre is on the Ards and North Down leisure website.
