Woburn Bike Park rebuild pushes on with new dirt jump line and black downhill track

The rebuild at Woburn Bike Park continues to move forward, with a newly completed dirt jump line and the first proper test rides on a brand-new black-graded downhill track.

The latest build and ride update shows how the team has been refining shapes through repeated build laps, adapting features as conditions and ride feedback demanded. Despite persistent wet weather limiting riding time, shaping work has continued across both jump and downhill zones.

Dirt jump line: refined shapes and multiple options

The dirt jump line has been reworked through several iterations, with a focus on improving flow and usability across different speeds and bike types. Early changes included reducing an oversized case pad, reshaping rollers to make them properly pumpable, and splitting take-offs to create parallel lines.

These split lips allow riders to choose between a shorter, more forgiving option or a longer, faster take-off, while shared landings with different heights feed into multiple exits. The layout now links directly into existing downhill and blue runs, creating several ways through the same section while making efficient use of the available space.

New black freeride downhill line takes shape

Alongside the dirt jumps, work has progressed quickly on a new downhill track that has firmly settled into black-grade territory. Starting from a wooden roll-in, the line runs parallel to an existing blue trail, following a steeper gradient to offer clear progression rather than replacement.

The track features a sequence of shark fins, hips, cambered rollers, and large landings shaped to encourage linking corners rather than straight-line speed. Many landings include outside hooks that naturally feed into the next turn, creating a consistent rhythm of land, carve, and jump all the way down the hill.

Test riding and next steps

Early test rides highlight how the track balances technical shapes with space to move on the bike, particularly through the larger bomb holes and lower features. Further shaping and finishing work is still planned, with additional lines already being discussed nearby.

The new black line is yet to be named, with suggestions invited as the rebuild continues.
