Warley Bike Park's future uncertain

Warley Bike Park, also known locally as Warley Gap, a volunteer-built network of dirt jumps and bike tracks on the edge of Thorndon Country Park near Brentwood in Essex, is once again asking supporters to back a long-running petition, after the club told iBikeRide it is in ongoing talks with Brentwood Borough Council over the site's future.

The network includes several lines and a kids' pump track, with hips, tables, berms, and gaps to session, built and maintained by volunteers.

A "Save Warley Gap Bike Park" petition was first launched in 2019, when the site faced possible clearance. Little has changed publicly in the years since, but the club says conversations with the council are ongoing, with a public meeting on the site's future expected in September. In the meantime, the club is asking riders to back the petition, which has seen a fresh wave of signatures over the past week after being shared on the club's Facebook and Instagram pages.

If you ride Warley or want to support the club, signing the petition is the most direct way to help. You can find the full iBikeRide listing for Warley Bike Park, including trail details, here.
