UCI Pump Track World Championship Qualifier Coming to Rocks & Wheels Dalbeattie This June

Rocks and Wheels in Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, is set to host a Velosolutions UCI Pump Track World Championship Qualifier on Sunday 14 June 2026 -- the venue's first major competitive event and one of just a handful of UK qualifiers ever staged in the series.

The event takes place on the 280-metre competition pump track at Rocks and Wheels, built by Velosolutions and featuring rollers, triples, quads, step-ups, step-downs, S-turns, and a split-line option. The track is currently closed to the public and is due to open just ahead of the qualifier.

Dalbeattie Initiative, the community social enterprise behind the Rocks and Wheels project, confirmed the news on their channels, describing it as "an opportunity we didn't want to miss." A detailed programme for the weekend is expected to be shared shortly.

Racing is open to riders aged 17 and over. A top-four finish in the men's or women's category secures a place at the 2026 Velosolutions UCI Pump Track World Championships final in Beijing, China, on 16-17 October. This season also introduces a youth pathway, with the chance to advance to the Velosolutions Pump Track World Youth Challenge in Sweden.

Rocks and Wheels is part of a wider £7.8 million regeneration of the former Dalbeattie Primary School, converting the 1876 granite buildings and surrounding seven acres into a cycling and bouldering activity centre with accommodation, a café, and community spaces. The pump track was built to national competition standard as a centrepiece of the facility, sitting alongside the 7stanes trail network on the doorstep.

Ahead of the event, Dalbeattie Initiative is running a raffle -- the winner will complete the opening lap of the track ahead of the championships. The draw takes place on Thursday, 28 May.

Further details on registration and the full event programme are expected from Velosolutions shortly. View the event listing on iBikeRide.
