The Lecht Is Back: MTB Trails to Reopen This Summer With More to Come

Lecht 2090 will reopen its downhill mountain bike trails this summer, ending a multi-season closure. While an exact opening date is not yet set, the venue confirmed that both the Blue Hare and Red Fox trails will return, along with teased future developments.

The Cairngorms-based downhill centre, which sits at 2090 feet (645 metres) above sea level and offers a red and a blue descent along with a skills park, posted the announcement on its Facebook page alongside the video above, urging riders to "dust off those bikes" and keep summer plans flexible.

The post stopped short of revealing what the new developments will be, saying the team has been busy working on exciting new things behind the scenes and promising more details soon. Luckily, we have since had an update on the inside track. This is what we know, and it sounds even better

"The chairlift is not being used for uplift, and instead we have a brand new system for taking riders up the hill - the first in the UK! Added to our original trails, we also have a new pump track and skills park, and planning has just been approved for a new downhill trail too - exciting times ahead!!"
