Tarland Trails is set to expand its network with Project Mushroom, a new hand-built trail developed based on rider feedback. This initiative was one of the most requested improvements in the recent trail surveys. This project will take time but be worth the wait.

Project Mushroom is designed to be a rider-driven experience, created by volunteers and integrated within the current trail network. The landowners have granted permission for the trail to be built on their property, allowing public access.
The scale of this project necessitates multiple Dig Days and a significant volunteer effort. Tarland Trails is calling for community help, emphasising that every volunteer contribution, whether for one day or multiple sessions, is valuable in bringing this trail to life.
Volunteers will be involved in different aspects of trail building, including shaping lines, creating berms, and constructing features.
The first Dig Day for Project Mushroom is scheduled for November 17, 2024, from 09:15 to 15:00. Interested volunteers can meet at the Smallburn Car Park, located at Smallburn AB34 4TB, UK. RSVP here.
