Community Ride Project CIC was established in 2026 by Adam Coxon, a mountain biker and coach with a background in trail development and community engagement. The organisation operates as a Community Interest Company, with all activity directed toward improving health, wellbeing and social connection through cycling and the outdoors.
The CIC runs four main strands of activity. Social rides are open to all ages and abilities, with an inclusive approach designed to build confidence and bring new riders into the sport. A youth development programme uses structured coaching and guided rides to develop bike handling alongside broader life skills. Women's rides focus on enjoyment and connection rather than competition, led by experienced ride leaders. And volunteer days give people the chance to get involved in trail maintenance and site improvement work regardless of previous experience.
The organisation has also partnered with British Cycling to provide bikes for riders who do not have their own, lowering the cost barrier for anyone wanting to get involved.
On the trail development side, the CIC is actively involved in the ongoing rebuild at Pooley Mountain Bike Trails at Pooley Country Park in Warwickshire. Work there has focused on a new Skills Area, with volunteer sessions completing features including a run of four jumps on the back row. The longer-term vision for the site includes expanded trails, advanced features, coaching and youth development. The project is currently seeking volunteers and donations to keep the build moving forward.
More information on all of the CIC's programmes, upcoming rides and volunteer opportunities is available at communityrideprojectcic.co.uk.
