Nevis Range in Fort William, Scotland, has revealed concept plans for a new upper-mountain jump line as part of wider long-term investment plans aimed at expanding its gravity riding and adventure tourism offering.

The proposed line would sit on the upper mountain near the Gondola Top Station at Nevis Range and is intended to combine berms, rollers, jump sections and progression-focused features using the mountain’s existing terrain and contours.

According to Nevis Range, the aim is to create a trail that feels “fast, wild and unmistakably Highland” rather than a heavily manufactured bike park disconnected from the surrounding landscape.

The proposed route would include:

  • Multi-berm flow sections
  • Tabletops and step-ups
  • Optional gap jumps and advanced features
  • Progression-focused riding zones
  • Natural rock and heather integration

The centre says the vision is to create a more replayable, session-focused riding experience that complements the venue’s established downhill reputation while reflecting changing rider expectations around progression, flow, and social riding.

Nevis Range has hosted mountain biking for more than two decades and remains one of the UK’s best-known lift-access riding destinations, including hosting international downhill racing events.

The proposed jump line also forms part of wider discussions around significant international investment linked to the future development of the mountain resort and tourism infrastructure. Nevis Range says those wider plans could include uplift modernisation, expanded mountain biking facilities and year-round tourism development.

The resort also highlighted growing international demand for Highland adventure tourism.

No construction timeline or approval details have yet been confirmed for the proposed jump line.

Would you like to see more large-scale jump and flow trails developed at UK uplift centres, or should venues focus more on technical downhill riding instead?
