Mountain biking is back at The Lecht, with two new trails, a pump track and a skills park now open after the venue's downhill trails were closed for several seasons.

Lapwing Loop is graded green. The venue describes it as an easy, family-friendly trail with gentle gradients and wide, flowing corners, suited to beginners, younger riders and families.

Curlew Cruise is graded blue and open to riders aged 12 and over. It is a flowing singletrack with easy jumps, rollers, bomb holes, bermed corners, optional feature lines and passing places. A 20 inch wheel size is required to use the venue's uplift on this trail.

The trails opened to riders on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July. The Lecht's regular opening pattern is Wednesday to Sunday, closed Monday and Tuesday.

Uplift is provided by an EasyLoop system, which The Lecht describes as the first of its kind in the UK. A minimum 20-inch wheel size is required for uplift use.

Two red-graded trails are still in development. Peregrine Plunge is described by the venue as nearing completion, while Buzzard Bomb is at an earlier stage. Neither has a confirmed opening date.

Adult pricing is £20.00 for the full area or £10.00 for the limited area, with child pricing at £15.00 and £7.00.

The venue's previous downhill trails, the Red Fox Trail (red) and Blue Hare Trail (blue), had been closed for at least two seasons, and remained shut until this year's reopening.
