As part of a broader initiative, the project also aims to improve the ecological diversity and productivity of the area. Plans include creating smaller fields around the trail, planting hedgerows and trees, and incorporating permaculture and agro-forestry practices. There is also consideration for introducing Highland cattle to support land management.

The project is funded by Perth & Kinross External Funding and the Scottish Cycling Facilities Fund, which is supported by Scottish Cycling, Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS), and Sportscotland. Contributions from Comrie Croft Bikes, Strathearn Mountain Biking Club, and other local partners have also played a role in its development.

Once completed, the trail will offer a more accessible and environmentally conscious space for outdoor activities.
