Trail Highlights & Details

Raven Trail

The black-graded Raven Trail is an 18.5 km route designed for experienced riders. Built by Rowan Sorrell and Brian Rumble, this trail features technical singletrack, thrilling descents, and challenging climbs, making it a must-ride for advanced mountain bikers.

Derwen Trail

Perfect for beginners and families, the Derwen Trail consists of a 9.7 km green-graded loop with an optional 3.9 km blue-graded extension. This route meanders through oak woodlands, offering a mix of steady climbs and fun descents.

Storm Impact & Volunteer Efforts

The damage to Brechfa Forest was caused by Storm Darragh, which struck in late 2024. The recovery process has been supported by volunteers from Brechfa MTB (CIC), whose work has been crucial in restoring sections of the trails and allowing partial reopenings.

Important Visitor Information

While access to some trails has been restored, NRW urges visitors to exercise caution and adhere to diversions and posted guidance. Ongoing recovery efforts mean that certain sections remain off-limits. Facilities, including portable toilets and picnic areas, are available at the car parks.
