Work has begun on a revamp of the Black Dog MTB North Trail at Philips Park in Whitefield, Greater Manchester, with maintenance and feature upgrades scheduled to run from 9 March through to around 17 April.

The project is being led by Nationwide Cycling Academy in partnership with Dirt Factory, with volunteers invited to help during the build period. The work focuses on refreshing the existing trail surface and adding new riding features.

Riders have been asked not to use the trail while the work is underway, as riding unfinished sections can create ruts and damage the surface before it has properly bedded in.

The Black Dog trails are part of the wider community-built network within Philips Park, a long-standing riding spot for Greater Manchester riders with a mix of woodland lines and volunteer-maintained tracks.
