BikePark Wales launches Adaptive Bike Pass with mapped trail access

BikePark Wales recently launched a new Adaptive Bike Pass — a helpful spot originally shared by the UK MTB Trail Alliance that we’d missed at the time. It’s also a welcome addition to our growing adaptive MTB guide. This one’s been on our radar for a while, as we knew they were working on something significant to improve aMTB access — great to see it now live.

What’s included in the Adaptive Bike Pass?

The pass gives adaptive riders access to a selection of approved trails that have been tested using adaptive bikes — mainly the Bowhead Reach model. These trails have been mapped to avoid pinch points and other features that could be impassable for bikes with wider footprints.

Each adaptive rider can bring a support rider free of charge, and a tailored map of suitable trails is provided on arrival. Riders are encouraged to get in touch with BPW ahead of time to discuss any specific needs or questions.

How much does it cost?

The Adaptive Bike Pass is priced from £19 per person. That price applies whether the adaptive bike is e-powered or not — there’s a single flat rate to keep things simple.

Feedback from riders

One rider from Bristol commented:

"I’ve been a few times now and had a cracking time. There is a good selection of trails I can access. I’d recommend riding an adaptive bike with e-assist as the climb has some steep sections."
